Fossil fuel corporation, Woodside Energy, is using West Aussie kids as walking billboards to promote their toxic brand.
Last year, 8,421 kids aged 5 to 12 were enrolled in the Nippers — the long-running, junior surf awareness and beach safety program delivered by WA’s 31 surf clubs. In 2019, Woodside did a deal with Surf Life Saving WA (SLSWA), and purchased naming rights of the Nippers - meaning that today, each child participating in the program is required to wear the logo of this gas giant on their high-vis vests and swim caps.
Using kids in this way is not acceptable. Woodside’s branding does not belong on children’s bodies, in a kids beach safety program, or on our precious beaches.
Nippers is for kids. Not gas corporations.
It’s time to tell Surf Life Saving WA to Dump Woodside.
